PITC Graduate Conference 2011

July 2011

Dear Graduates,

It’s that time of year again so let’s get together at the PITC Graduate Conference, October 19-21, 2011, at the Doubletree Hotel, Berkeley Marina, California.

This year’s conference will focus on learning in the first two years, the role of culture in learning and reflective practice. A keynote by Barbara Rogoff on culture and learning will kick off the conference. Deborah Leong will speak on how infant toddler teachers can help with the development of self regulation and “learning to learn” skills. We will have panel present on the essential components of home visitation and presentations by graduates on successful reflective practice experiences. Peter Mangione will unveil the ECE Competencies and I will make a presentation about learning in the first two years of life and WestEd’s new initiative 4 our Babies.

Along the way we will catch up with each other and share what’s happening and we will have a celebration of PITC’s 25 years. As is the case every year I’m looking forward to seeing you. This conference is always a great mix of learning and connection.

Sincerely yours,

Ron Lally
