WestEd, The Center for Child and Family Studies (CCFS) in collaboration with the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) is pleased to announce the availability of funds to develop a demonstration program for the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) on a California Community College or California State University campus in one of the following counties; San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, and Fresno. Only public community colleges and state universities located in the geographic areas specified in this Request for Applications (RFA) are eligible to apply for these funds. First priority will be given to applications submitted by community colleges. If there are fewer than three successful written applications from community colleges, then applications submitted by California State Universities in the designated counties will be read and scored.
The campus selected through this RFA will join the existing four PITC demonstration programs at CCCs to become a partner in this collaborative effort with WestEd and CDE/CDD, to provide high-quality programs in which observers may view the PITC philosophy in practice. The new PITC campus will be expected to implement the PITC polices and practices presented in this RFA during the development and ongoing operation of the demonstration program.
