The Child Care & Development Division of the California Department of Social Services (CCDD/CDSS) and WestEd's Program for Infant Toddler/Care (PITC) have collaborated to design our first PITC Academy for Family Child Care (FCC) scheduled for spring 2022.

The PITC Academy for FCC is a six-session virtual training event for California FCC Providers who serve infants and toddlers. All sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The Academy design provides PITC training highlighting the unique assets and challenges of FCC.

  • Tuesday, March 29: The PITC Six Essential Policies Connection to Family Child Care
  • Thursday, March 31: Environments as Part of the Curriculum
  • Tuesday, April 5: Mixed Aged Groups and Planning Learning Experiences
  • Thursday, April 7: Acknowledge, Ask, and Adapt
  • Tuesday, April 12: Inclusion
  • Tuesday, April 19: Vicarious Trauma and Self-Care

Please join us in encouraging providers to visit the PITC Academy for FCC website to learn more about this exciting opportunity. Applications open through Friday, February 18. Thanks to generous funding from CCDD/CDSS, there is no fee for participation.
