Information about this training

The PITC Curriculum supports ongoing discovery, amazement, and wonder for infants and toddlers. By adopting the relationship-based, responsive approach to early care promoted by the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), PITC Curriculum planning tools and strategies support the efforts of family child care providers and center-based educators to facilitate high-quality individualized learning and healthy development for children from 0-3.

Unique to the PITC Curriculum is a planning process based on reflection, observation, and documentation of play and learning that respects each child's developing abilities, individual strengths and needs, family culture(s), and language(s). This planning process helps care educators deepen understanding, share meaning, support learning, and strengthen meaningful, caring relationships with infants and toddlers. This training supports and promotes the implementation of the PITC Curriculum to fidelity.

The training includes 4 sessions (3 hours each) with engaging support, quality materials, and technical assistance.

  • Session 1- August 15: Introduction to the PITC Curriculum
  • Session 2- August 29: The PITC Curriculum Planning Steps and Tools
  • Session 3- September 12: Curriculum Planning for Small Groups
  • Session 4-September 26: Individual Goal Planning and the Responsive Process of Watch, Ask, and Adapt

The training is held synchronously on zoom.
