Nevada City, California
Sierra College - Nevada County Campus
Merrill Palmer Institute of Human Development & Family in Detroit introduced me to this exciting field. Experiences included teaching at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, supervising student teachers in Minnesota, teaching in Oklahoma, Alabama, and California. After three years in public policy work with the League of Women Voters State Office (office manager),I returned to my preschool roots as a teacher/assistant director in Fair Oaks, CA. During that time, began community college evening teaching. Served five years as Placer County Office of Education Child Care Services Assistant Administrator and Family Child Care Homes Teacher until retiring in 2000 to work with Sierra Nevada Children's Services for a year and return to part time teaching at Sierra College. Created special subject Sierra College courses while serving as Pre-K Guidelines facilitator and Early Steps to Reading Success facilitator for CAEYC in Placer and Nevada Counties. Current focus is on the Infant Toddler Development course and Exceptional Development (birth - 8) at Sierra College - Grass Valley and Rocklin...and my four year old San Francisco grandson and Sacramento grandson due in May!
