Beth Reeves Fortney has most recently worked as Director of Education for a national employer-sponsored child care company to develop and deliver the educational vision for customized child care programs and on-site centers serving infant and preschool children.

Through over 25 years of consultation practice, Reeves Fortney has developed child care centers including concept, design, training and center opening and have supported various projects for government agencies, leading corporations, foundations, theme and public parks, and elementary schools.

Reeves Fortney has served on the faculty at Pacific Oaks College and Monterey Peninsula College, serve as a validator for the NAEYC and is a certified PITC trainer. She has participated in three study-tours to Reggio Emilia and participate in the California Innovative Teacher Project roundtable forums that focus on the study and research of the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. Her early childhood experience includes in-patient hospital childcare; public school special education, college demonstration programs, cooperative nursery school, and after-school care.

Reeves Forteny holds an MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California, which included studies at the Bank Street College of Education.
