Janet Shaw

I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1973 when I went to work at a private child care center in Bakersfield, CA as an aide. I continued to work in the field moving up the career ladder to teacher and assistant director. In 1980 I opened a private childcare center in Bakersfield, which I directed until 1985. In 1986 I went to work at Community Connection for Child Care (CCCC) the resource and referral agency for Kern County. My first position was coordinating the original pilot for the California Child Care Initiative Project (CCCIP). During the past 15 years I have worked on several training projects though CCCC involving family child care providers, center staff, parents, community and exempt providers.
