Janis Keyser is a consultant for the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), writing curriculum, developing, and facilitating online and in-person training. Keyser is a lead writer on the "PITC Infant/Toddler Caregiving: A Guide to Creating Partnerships with Families", and a contributor to the "California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework". She worked as a project consultant for California Family Partnership Initiative with WestEd, and was a contributing author for the WestEd book, "Concepts for Care: 20 Essays on Infant/Toddler Development and Learning".
Keyser taught in the Early Childhood Education Department at Cabrillo College for 30 years, working with children, parents, and teachers and was the coordinator for a California State Infant/Toddler Demonstration Program at Cabrillo College, in collaboration with PITC. Keyser also worked at Google Children’s Center co-developing the program and directing centers and consults internationally with teachers, programs, and parents.
She is the co-author of "Becoming the Parent You Want to Be: A Sourcebook of Strategies for the First Five Years" (Broadway Books) and the author of "From Parents to Partners: Building a Family-Centered Early Childhood Programs" (adopted by NAEYC). She was the photographer/producer of the video, “Changing the World One Diaper at a Time.”
Keyser received an MA in human development from Pacific Oaks College and is a certified PITC trainer.
