Janice Barnett has worked in the field of early childhood for the past 35 years. Janice received her Master’s Degree in Special Education/ Early Intervention from WVU focusing on children birth to 6 years of age. Janice began her career as a teacher in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms for childcare centers in Connecticut and North Carolina. She then served as Child Care Partnership Coordinator and Early Head Start Manager for Northern Panhandle Head Start before accepting the position of Infant Toddler Specialist and Early Childhood Specialist for the Child Care Resource Center. Janice is a certified trainer for the Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC), a past High/Scope Curriculum Trainer, and a previous Child Development Associate (CDA) Trainer. Janice also served as a SpecialQuest Administrator for the Hilton/Early Head Start Training Program-supporting young children with disabilities in inclusive settings. Janice is endorsed with the WV Infant/Toddler Mental Health Association as an Infant Family Specialist (Level II) Janice provides trainings and technical assistance to child care centers, in-home providers, and Head Start programs in WV. Janice conducts the West Virginia Infant Toddler classes to Infant and Toddler teachers in WV.
