Bethany Houchins is an Infant/Toddler Specialist at MountainHeart Community Services in southeastern West Virginia. She became a fully certified trainer in PITC in July 2018. In her work, she works with childcare centers, family childcare homes, and family childcare facilities. She is on her company's professional development team and is a Professional Development Provider for the WV STARS program. In her job as an Infant/Toddler Specialist, she also does technical assistance and offers professional development opportunities including the West Virginia Infant Toddler Professional Program (WVIT) which is deeply rooted in PITC philosophy and best practices. She is also a member of the WV Infant/Toddler Specialist Network and collaborates with other Infant/Toddler Specialists across the state for a variety of projects including Great Beginnings which is WV's Infant/Toddler conference. She is endorsed by the WV Infant Toddler Mental Health Association as an Infant Family Associate as well as a Safe Sleep Ambassador from Cribs for Kids. Her education includes a B.A. in Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Development from Berea College as well as an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM.
