I am currently working to develop an Infant/Toddler Certification for center-based and family child care providers in the state of Delaware based on PITC modules and philosophy. We are also developing Director training for infant/toddler programs based on best practices for infants and toddlers: PITC, ITERS-R, developmentally appropriate practices,...
I have been focusing on the area of infant/toddler care since 1974 when I worked as a teacher at an inclusive infant-toddler classroom at a college demonstration program. At Temple University, where I received my doctorate in Early Childhood Education, my work focused on research & training for infant/toddler caregiver interactions and relationship building. I published Your Caregiving Self, a newsletter Nurturing the Nurturers-empowering caregivers to tune in to their interactions with children and colleagues. I have been director of an early intervention program and a family child care network in a non-profit agency.
I have local, state and national experience designing and providing training for teachers and directors. I am a consultant with EHS NRC at Zero to Three, a PRISM reviewer and an Early Literacy Mentor Coach Specialist. I am a PA Pathways TQAS trainer and a Master Instructor, Level 7 in NJ.
I have developed DARE to AFFIRM, a parallel process for developing responsive relationships for the adults who work with children. They are the hidden dimension in quality child care. We must "do unto others as we want them to do unto others". Learn more about this process and how you can "Catch Them Doing Something Right" at www.daretoaffirm.com
