The PITC Regional Support Network offers seminars on California's Infant/Toddler Learning & Development System in collaboration with California Department of Social Services and local agencies.
About the Regional Seminars
Regional seminars focus on publications by the California Departments of Education and Social Services and PITC topics. The seminars are designed to support continuous improvement efforts of infant/toddler programs. The seminars will help participants to:
- Understand the importance of the PITC philosophy, and benefits of responsive relationship based care;
- Identify program practices that support high quality infant and toddler care;
- Deepen knowledge of infant and toddler learning and development; and
- Implement a responsive infant/toddler curriculum using the reflective planning process.
Faculty for the seminars are PITC Regional Coordinators, who are Infant/Toddler Specialists with a deep knowledge and understanding of early care and education. To learn more about regional seminars in your local area and PITC events visit the PITC calendar of events.
This seminar will have a focus on infant and toddler learning and development. The foundations describe competencies infants and toddlers typically attain during the birth-to-three-year period. Participants will explore CDSS's Infant/Toddler Learning and Development Foundations, 2nd Edition and related material.

This seminar will help early care and education providers to become familiar with the California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework as a means of supporting the ongoing cycle of observing, documenting, reflecting, and implementing appropriate curriculum.
California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework - English
This seminar will present information about how to provide high-quality early care and education, including recommendations for program policies, day-to-day practices, and the curriculum planning process that will improve program services to all infants and toddlers. Participants will explore and become familiar with CDE’s Infant/Toddler Program Guidelines, 2nd Edition as a resource to providing quality care in centers, family child care homes, in-home and family, friend and neighbor care settings.
